About the Workshop:
This two-day multidisciplinary workshop will deal with the theory and applications of Benford's Law in Mathematics, as well as the Physical and Social Sciences. The format consists of talks by approximately 10 experts that have been studying or applying Benford's Law in a wide diversity of areas. Our goals are to provide a deeper understanding of this law, to consider common themes that may exist, and to catalyze new research activities related to this law. We anticipate a 45-minute lecture by each of the experts, followed by liberal discussion opportunities. The keynote address would be provided by Professor Ted Hill, who is currently recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on this topic. We would like to accommodate an additional 30-40 interested scientists, engineers, and mathematicians as audience members and discussion participants.
Venue: The workshop will take place at La Posada hotel in Santa Fe, NM. A rate of $103 + taxes/fees per night has been negotiated for attendees of the workshop.
