Dr. Lee brings over 40 years of engineering, management, and instructional experience to the students and faculty of the ECE department. His primary interest is in developing excellence in software engineering in the area of real-time systems software.

Dr. Lee most recently served as Principal Software Engineer for Novint Technologies, where he continues in a consulting role. In that position he was responsible for the runtime support software for a breakthrough line of low-cost haptic controllers. His previous engagements were with VisionAIR in North Carolina, where he was responsible for the mobile applications software, including development of a J2EE-based messaging system. His interest in software arose during his first ten post-college years as a circuit design engineer at Texas Instruments, when he saw what could be done with real-time software connected to mechanical devices.

Dr. Lee is a Life member of IEEE. He teaches a number of courses in the ECE Department, generally in the area of real-time software and computer control systems.

Dr. Lee's previous teaching experience includes a year as guest lecturer at Hefei Institute of Technology in Hefei, China, and in a variety of industrial in-house training programs.
