Pradeep Sen launched UNM’s new Advanced Graphics Lab (AGL) when he joined ECE@UNM in 2006. The lab is dedicated to research in computer graphics, visualization and computer vision. It has been growing at a rapid pace and now boasts four PhD students and several MS students. The AGL also works in close collaboration with the UNM ARTS Lab, an interdisciplinary research center for digital media.

Dr. Sen’s research interests include real-time rendering and graphics hardware, the acquisition and display of light fields, computational photography, and visualization of complex data. He has published papers at ACM SIGGRAPH, Graphics Hardware, IEEE Visualization, and Eurographics.

At UNM, Dr. Sen has helped broaden the graphics curriculum to include advanced courses in image synthesis, real-time rendering, and scientific visualization. He is also one of the leaders behind the new Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media (IFDM) program at UNM, an undergraduate curriculum in computer graphics and digital media available to undergraduates in the ECE program.

Dr. Sen has acted as a reviewer at a number of graphics conferences and is a member of IEEE, ACM, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. He holds a joint appointment with Computer Science.
