ECE Student Joshua Trujillo Selected For Prestigious Honeywell FM&T Technical Fellowship Program

ECE student Joshua Trujillo was recently selected for the prestigious Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) Technical Fellowship Program. The Technical Fellowship Program at Honeywell allows employees to earn a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a science or engineering discipline identified as a technical gap, while enabling employees to meet their educational development needs. In particular, a technology plan and technical needs list are used as the basis for identifying technology development areas in support of Honeywell FM&T’s national security mission. Subsequently, all candidates must go through a rigorous interview process that includes delivering a presentation explaining how their graduate study plan supports these technical needs. A scoring process is then used by a Technical Fellowship Selection Committee to evaluate and select candidates based upon the strength and relevance of their proposed study plan¸ their performance, demonstrated technical leadership, and presentation. Finalists then go on to interview with senior leadership prior to being selected.

Overall, Joshua has worked for Honeywell since 2006 and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at the UNM’s Integrated Circuit Hardware Analysis Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. James Plusquellic. His research work will focus on key areas in embedded systems design and will help maintain and grow core competencies for Honeywell FM&T.
